Beef Meatballs
The best and most versatile meatball recipe you will come across. Delicious on their own or in a tomato sauce over pasta, served with rice and salad or in a homemade sub.
Ingredients
1kg beef mince
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 onion (grated)
2 eggs (beaten)
¼ cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp smoked Tabasco sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Method
In a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients - beef mince, beaten eggs, grated onion, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, smoked Tabasco sauce and panko breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper as preferred.
Combine all ingredients evenly together by mixing with both hands.
Grab a small handful of mixture (approx. 2 tablespoons) and make a ball using your hands. Place finished meatballs on a plate or tray. Repeat until the mixture is finished.
Once the meatballs have been shaped, cover the plate or tray with wrap and store in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
When ready to cook, preheat oven to 180°C and prepare lined baking trays.
Separately, heat olive oil in a large frying pan on medium heat. Cook 6 meatballs at a time, be careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until lightly brown (3 – 4 minutes) and then transfer the meatballs to a lined baking tray. Repeat until all the meatballs have been browned and on a tray.
Bake meatballs in the oven for 30 minutes or until desired.
Makes approx. 18 medium meatballs
